Logon Screen

A logon screen is used to identify who is viewing the courseware and will receive credit for successfully completing the lessons and test(s).

The application of a typical logon system can be described as the following: When the student first starts the instructional courseware, they will be prompted to enter their first and last names and a unique identification (social security/employee/student) number. The courseware will search the student record file on the computer’s hard drive to determine if a record exists for the specific student. If the courseware located a record of their information, checkmarks will appear on the main menu next to the topics that the student has successfully completed. The student will have a visual referent of which sections they have completed and which sections they need to view.

If the training application does not locate a record for the student, it will assume that the student is “new” and prompt them to type in their information (name, employee number, etc.) and a “record” for the student will be created.

Below is an example of a logon registration screen.
