Process/ProcedureThis instructional method is used to teach some type of process or procedure, something that has defined steps or tasks that occur in a specific sequence. A process is typically something that is difficult to observe. Photosynthesis, CRM (Customer Management Relationship), how steel is produced from its core ingredients are examples of processes. Procedures are typically a collection of steps or tasks that someone has to perform. How to create a new customer in the Client Database, how to check-in a new guest at a hotel, how to safely unload a railroad tankcar containing hazard materials are examples of procedures. Process and Procedures need to be taught by presenting an overview and in turn, each of the steps involved in the sequence. Typically, we teach processes and procedures by presenting the steps of the sequence in their proper order. Once the student has completed the sequence the first time, they are allowed to go back and review any or all of the steps in whatever order they choose. Example This example requires that you have the Macromedia Authorware Plug-In installed into your web browser.
