Lois plays the Clarinet in the New Horizons Concert Band and is originally from River Forest, Illinois.

Lois has been a Special Services Recreation Director for the US Army, a US Air Force Elementary Teacher, and a Business Owner.

Some of Lois' hobbies are music (opera, orchestra, band, chorale, and hand bells).

Lois has a BM Ed. form the University of Michigan and graduate studies from Spalding University (Louisville, Kentucky). She is also a recipient of the Else Harper Award for Cultural Enrichment (2001) from the City of Fernandina Beach
